Do you wanna be an entrepreneur?

This is a tough job description and it is not an easy task for anybody to become an entrepreneur! Yeah, you may say that you are already a successful corporate manager or executive but that doesn't mean that you can guarantee your success when you ventured into entrepreneurship on your own.

When you are working for an organization, you are working with for a team of people. So, most of the job functions are already been assigned to each and every one to perform the task of the project. So the business performed or carried out based on the team work to ensure success of the business. So, if the project failed ….. The only thing you got is the yell from your boss or worst you get the sack. And eventually sooner or later you will find another employment some where. But if you failed in your business, your financial status will be distressed and it is not as easy as finding another job.

It is totally a different ball game once you entered the entrepreneurship world. You are completely creating the success and destiny of your business based on your performance alone. To be an entrepreneur, it could be very lonely up there. As everything you have to perform on your own. So, this is where many people were caught of not having enough skills or experience to perform their entrepreneurial activities successfully and most of the time their entrepreneurial activity just went busted in less than 2 years.

To ensure the success of your business, you got to have certain characteristics. Majority of the successful  entrepreneurs are found to have traits as leaders. You must be able to accept some small risks that come along. Willing to perform working long hours even Saturdays and Sundays you will be working. You must be innovative and far sighted in order to differentiate your business from others. You got to be resilient and tough enough to ride the journey along all the obstacles and facing problems of solving them. You got to be  business minded kind of person, should be decisive, dominant and belief in one’s own vision and goal setting are some of the classic characteristics of success factors in becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Other  factors needed are:  good communication skills, customer service skills, financial skills, IT literate and an ability to plan and be flexible are favorable. Greater knowledge in the business skills   are the  success   factors in the survival of your business.

Before you launch your entrepreneurship, bear in mind what type of business you want to venture. Know the location, what type of business suit you best, who will be your customers?  Whether you will need financial support from family or friends or banks?

You should ask yourself….if your business failed will you stay put with your business and nurture it or you are going to close it? If the answer is yes that you are to close the business then you are not ready to venture into entrepreneurship. Better to stay put where you are and enjoy your perks. Get some business skills and the feel of entrepreneurship. I would suggest that you read more books on entrepreneurship or get involve with some part time business… say running it from your home at first and gradually moving out to running a full time business.

In summary, most of the entrepreneurs failed at one time or other but they made it at the end of their entrepreneurship journey as they fervently believe in themselves and the product or services they venture into.

As for me the journey of entrepreneurship is just like driving in a long  and winding road.....looks like I'm heading for the storm!
